WELCOME TO

Your first choice in childcare in Bridgend and surrounding areas.

Choosing a nursery is an important decision.  Our aim is to provide the perfect solution to any parent looking for childcare by understanding both the child’s and parents needs.

So whether you are looking to return to work, moving area or whether you just want your child to have the best opportunities in their life, then come to The Children’s Day Nursery

MISSION STATEMENT

The Children’s Day Nursery will provide a happy environment in which the children will learn and grow through play.  Children, parents and staff will value, respect and care for each other in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT WE DO

The Children’s Day Nursery is a 124 place full daycare setting based in Bridgend and caters for children aged six weeks to 11 years. The nursery is split into two separate facilities, a dedicated baby facility catering for ages 6 weeks up to 3 years and a dedicated pre-school facility catering for ages 2 ½ years to 11 years. We are open Monday to Friday 7.00am-6.00pm all year with the exception of Bank Holidays. We are situated on Bridgend Industrial Estate, with easy access from the M4.  The car park is located to the front of the building with unobstructed car parking for at least 16 cars.  There is also a large sheltered entrance porch for those rainy days.

The Children’s Day Nursery is a ‘home from home’ place where children will feel safe and secure, where they are looked after by staff who are not only qualified, but who genuinely care for the children.  The nursery is an ideal environment for early learning development, a place where children learn in an atmosphere of fun, in preparation for full time education.  We encourage the children to develop their all-important social skills such as good manners, speech, table manners and social graces.  This of course goes hand in hand with giving each child the experiences and space to find and develop their own character in a safe and stimulating environment.

English is our first language; however basic welsh is introduced to the children and other cultures are introduced by celebrating festivals.

Children are to be fed healthily and an active lifestyle encouraged.  Children are to be encouraged to participate in day to day activities in order to develop their self esteem, self confidence and independence. The children and team are encouraged to think and care about the environment by way of recycling products that we use each day.

Comprehensive nursery policies and procedures including arrangements for making complaints are available in the nursery foyer. In an event of an emergency we have all our policies, procedures and risk assessments in place to minimize risk, all our staff are highly qualified and training is updated on a regular basis. We like all our staff to have First Aid, Health and Safety, Child Protection and Food Hygiene qualifications. Before a child starts at nursery, we ensure we have adequate number of contact details for parents/relatives in case of any emergency.

OUTDOOR AREA

Outside play is critical to the wellbeing and health of children. At our nursery, we encourage outside play on a daily basis. We are very lucky to have four outdoor play areas all with appropriate safety flooring.

Located at the baby facility we have one playground at the front of the building for children in the Honey House and Mini Monkeys and another at the back of the building for Jungle Cubs and Tiger Tots.

Located at the pre-school facility we have two playgrounds one is an adventure playground with Climbing frames, balance beams and slides, the other is used for soccer schools, rugbees, general running around and games.

All playgrounds are totally safe and secure and all areas are bright, sunny and well used. There are numerous play toys (bikes, trikes, cars, slides etc.)

During the summer months, sail shades and gazebos are erected to help protect the children from the sun.
